Color Theory for Watercolor

Service Description

Friday July 11th 10:30am - 2:30pm $200.00 Based on Johannes Itten’s Elements of Color, this workshop explores the practical application of his seven color contrasts: contrast of hue, light-dark, cold-warm, complementary, simultaneous, saturation, and extension. Students will gain a strong foundation in color theory, learning how to use and apply color more intentionally and effectively in their own work. Through hands-on exercises and guided instruction, you'll develop a deeper understanding of how color choices can bring coherence and meaning to your art. Participants are encouraged to bring images of the subjects they wish to paint. Please also bring a snack/lunch and something to drink—we’ll be working through the day with short breaks. Supplies are available at the Golden Eagle Art Store, where students receive a discount.
